NEWS: ADRIONWIND study visit in Apulia successfully completed
The ADRIONWIND study visit in Apulia, Italy, has successfully brought together project partners, experts, and local stakeholders from across six countries to explore the challenges and opportunities of offshore wind energy in the South Adriatic.
Over the course of three days, participants engaged in a series of meetings, site visits, and discussions:
– Day 1 (Bari): Strategic discussions among project partners to align activities and define the next steps toward a shared offshore wind roadmap
– Day 2 (Taranto): On-site visit to Beleolico, the Mediterranean’s first operational offshore wind farm, along with discussions with key stakeholders on sector development
– Day 3 (Manfredonia): Exchange with local authorities and businesses, including a visit to Galà & Figlio, focusing on port infrastructure, logistics, and industrial supply chains
The visit highlighted the importance of innovation, regional cooperation, and SME engagement as key drivers of a sustainable and inclusive energy transition in the Adriatic-Ionian region.
